Bird Song

A big story, cut to four panels. The arc of cutting one tether so the signal comes through clean.
Not fiction. Documentation.

Panel 01 — The Nest
A weathered hand sets a small bird's nest on a dark desk under a single amber lamp.
It started as a gift. Something small. Something you're supposed to protect.
Panel 02 — The Jay & The Butterfly
Through a dark window at dusk, a blue jay lunges at a fragile butterfly while a still figure watches from inside.
Then the noise comes for the fragile thing. It always does.
Panel 03 — The Parliament
A row of owls on a bare branch at dusk — a parliament — one baby owl among them, every eye turned toward the nest.
And something older is watching. The message was never subtle: guard the nest.
Panel 04 — Bird Song
At dawn, a single bird lifts off a telephone wire that still vibrates; below, a figure in a long coat looks up, lighter, freed.
Cut one tether and you don't fall — you rise. The silence as the world begins to wake.

PFLASH it. The P is silent. The truth isn't.
